Deutz is one of Cologne’s most popular districts amongst business people. Located on the right side of the river Rhine, it offers ideal travel connections to many of Cologne’s business spots – with a short distance to the city center around the Cologne Cathedral and a large variety of options for leisure activities.

Many business travelers associate Cologne with the Trade Fair Koelnmesse, located in Deutz. Lanxess Arena (often still referred to by its former name Kölnarena) is another important location: Cologne’s largest event venue, seating up to 20,000 people for sports events, concerts, musicals or business conferences. One of Germany’s largest TV stations – RTL – is located right around the corner, and close to the river Rhine.

Business and leisure go hand in hand in this district. Since 2015, Deutz residents have been enjoying a new Rhine promenade with a large open area for lounging and looking out onto the water. The famous Hohenzollernbrücke, a bridge connecting Deutz with the central part of Cologne, is known for its thousands of “love locks” – making it a popular site for picture taking.

If you don’t feel like taking the tram or bus to Cologne’s center, check out the shopping district Deutzer Freiheit! Anything you need can be found here, from clothes to accessories, souvenirs and home decor.

Furnished apartments in Deutz are especially popular among business people who appreciate the short commute to their new workplace. The close proximity to Cologne-Bonn airport is also a huge advantage for international travelers and expats.
